Wataru Kanou (狩野 航 Kanō Wataru) is third year and a member of the Wind-Orchestral Club at Shiseikan High School.

Wataru is a young boy with short light brown hair that is a little tousled, golden eyes and he wears large red glasses.

Wataru has a bright and lively personality who is willing to help anyone even Seiso student.
History[]
Wataru is a 3rd year student at Shiseikan High School who is a part of the school wind orchestra, composed of only 5 members since an accident concerning Shiro Hozumi. the latter fought against a group of students who annoyed Kôhei to defend him, but he took responsibility for it and his status as a member of the instrument club was called into question. But with President Yukihiro Yagisawa's support, Hozumi was able to stay in the instrument club, but others like Masanori Nagamine left. Since then, because of that accident, all the music competitions in which they wanted to participate have refused them.

Yokohama Concourse National Competition[]
The Shiseikan Wind Instument Club was finally selected to participate in the national music competition. They therefore find an opportunity to restore the dignity of their orchestra. Thanks to Kazuki Hihara (Yukihiro Yagisawa's teacher), they can stay in the Linden Hall with the members of the Seisô orchestra so they get to know each other and start to sympathize.
Kanade Kohinata then learns that the wind instrument club of their school risks being abolished if they lost, the members therefore think that by winning the competition, they could revive their orchestra.

- Wataru's surname Kanou means "hunting" (狩) (ka) and "field, wildenerss" (野) (no).
