La Corda D'oro Blue Sky |
Kyoya Kisaragi (如月 響也 Kisaragi Kyōya) is the younger brother of Ritsu Kisaragi and childhood friend of Kanade who is a second year student at Seiso that his shirt is embossed with the green color of the second year students. It should be noted that unlike in the first Kiniro no Corda year color specialization has changed: red for first years, green for second years and blue for third years. Also the anime specialized in the summer uniforms, meaning that majority of the uniforms are white and blue mixed with the year colour specializations.
Appearance[]
Kyoya is not the same Ritsu Kisaragi as he has lighter blue hair while Ritsu has deep blue hair, but they have the same yellow eyes.
Ritsu wear the same summer Seiso's standard uniform for Music Department.
Personality[]
Although Kyoya acts like a rebel and tends to find things bothersome, he somehow always ends up taking care of Kanade Kohinata and feels like he is always being pulled up by her. He gets the impression that people compare him to Ritsu Kisaragi and he hates that because he eventually got the feeling that he will never be as good as him. Because of the comparisons made between him and his brother, Kyoya started to play the violin less and less, and almost quit at one point.
History[]
When Kyoya was a child, it seemed that he enjoyed playing the violin together with Ritsu Kisaragi and Kanade Kohinata. Ritsu later decides to go to Seiso Academy and left Kyoya and Kanade behind. After Ritsu left, Kyoya somewhat changed and now doesn't like playing the violin as much as back then.
When he was a child he also got compared to Ritsu a lot and people would be asking him why he couldn't play just like his big brother. Because people were always comparing him and his brother, Kyoya started to feel that he would never be as good as Ritsu and doesn't understand why Ritsu chose him as the first violinist for the third selection of the concours.
Etymology[]
- The name Kyoya means "sound, echo" (響) (kyo) and "to be, also" (也) (ya).
- Kyoya's surname Kisaragi means "like" (如) (kisa) and "moon" (月) (ragi).
Trivia[]
- Kyoya and Keiichi Shimizu (from the original series) share the same seiyuu.
